1.Leave meaningful comments on others’ pages which have high page rank.They will reply you and maybe go to your blog and you will get a link back.What’s more,you should go to autopinger.com to ping the page url which you just commented on.Googlebot will come to crawl that url and while crawling it will find your link.
2.Use Google Webmastef tool.You can check this if you want to know how to use it.I recommend a wordpress plugin named “google xml sitemaps“.It will help you do what you should have done manully.
3.You know MyBlogLog?It is the blog related community portals that have a very good ranking in Google and other Major Search Engine Results.You can get your blog on MyBlogLog.Google will have no other choice but to index your blog.Go ahead and register for an account on this site and list your blog on it.(Look at this).There are also other related sites like BlogCatalog, Blogged and NetworkedBlogs.

5.Social Sites(like twitter) are very effective for promoting your blog and getting indexed by Google.So,go register on them.But remember using the proper ID.For example, my blog’s name is “SOHO Online”.It’s good to register the same usename at twitter as “@sohoonline“(follow me).More Social Sites:Digg, Facebook,Delicious.

i use pinging service sometimes and also have an account in mybloglog
when i post some article on my blog i prefer submitting to social bookmarking sites like Digg, reddit, stumbleupon and twitter. This helps getting post indexed quickly
